Description : Butterflies realistically formed from gold and gems. Fine detail down to the little forked feet. Ruby eyes, Old mine cut Diamonds colette set in the body (thorax) and the abdomen formed by pearls. Pearls not tested as natural/cultured. Gold of wing tops has a slight red tone, while their backs are more clearly yellow gold. Trombone clasps are very secure. They originate in 1940, so we know that these pins are firmly dated in that period. One butterfly on a shirt, coat or jacket is lovely, having a pair is fabulous. Highly suitable for either a man or a woman and will subtlely convert the most mundane outfit to something special. Great look and very well made. Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity. Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
